3DMedia has been developing an ecosystem comprised of 3D-enabled cameras and mobile devices, the internet, and connected 3D displays that run various applications to enable consumers to easily create, enjoy, and share personal 3D content. 3DMedia will present and demonstrate its latest technologies, software, and applications for creating, presenting, and sharing 3D content at the 2012 International CES taking place in Las Vegas, NV, from January 10-13.
"To accelerate the proliferation of 3D, we are developing an ecosystem that will allow consumers to easily create high-quality personal 3D content that they can share with friends and family," said Tassos Markas, President and CEO of 3DMedia. Current applications enable users to create 3D content and quickly see it on 3D TVs, thus enabling an easy and fun way for consumers to capture their personal experiences in 3D. 3DMedia's technologies include 3D capture and creation software that runs on cameras and cell phones, PC software to make 3D photos from picture pairs taken with standard digital cameras, and applications that run on connected 3D HDTVs and enable highly-engaging presentation of the captured 3D content.
Demonstrations of these applications will be available at 3DMedia's booth, which is #13242 located in Central Hall. Please schedule an appointment to talk with 3DMedia’s staff.
3DMedia is pleased to announce that its ViewFusion™ technology is powering the 3D capabilities of the recently announced Olympus TG-610, TG-310 and SP-610 3D-enabled cameras. With the ViewFusion technology embedded inside consumer grade digital cameras, users can easily create high-quality, captivating 3D photos that can be viewed on their 3D HDTVs and PC monitors. The ViewFusion technology allows the entire capture and creation processes to run on the camera, thus providing a very simple way for consumers to create their own personal content. Consumers can then enjoy their 3D photos by simply connecting the camera to a 3D HDTV using an HDMI cable. “Content creation is a key factor for the wide deployment of 3D,” said Tassos Markas, President and CEO of 3DMedia. “The ability of consumers to create their own content creates a personal connection between the consumer and 3D, which is a very important factor for the proliferation of 3D technology.” By embedding ViewFusion technology inside the camera, information from the camera can be used to solve several problems, which makes creation of 3D easy and safe.
“Olympus is very excited to be working with 3DMedia to provide leading-edge solutions in the 3D space,” said Toshikazu Hayashi, General Manager of Olympus Imaging Corporation. Enabling consumers to create 3D content using their existing cameras will help to quickly generate large amounts of content and further solidify 3D as the preferred way to view images.

This Venture Capital competition is the largest ever organized. Emerging companies were evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 and judging criteria consisted of several key points including: the professionalism of the written summary, current stage of development (customers, revenue), competitive advantage and need in the marketplace, feasibility for success, and whether the company is "VentureWorthy(TM)."
